Hey Cathy, unfortunately I'm not a career counselor, so I can't tell you how to fix your personal situation. All I can do is offer examples of people who are making it work, so you can get some ideas for your own life.

It sounds to me like your "needs" are the problem, not your job. You can give up your house, but you don't want to. It's important to note that distinction. Changing the world takes sacrifice; it's up to you to decide how you'll move forward.

you can always change your job to suit your needs

I need some major help with this idea. I work 7 days a week for minimum wage, live very economically, have to drive 35 miles one way to work and yes it was all I could find. I cannot give up my house of 25 years- please tell me how to make my job suit my needs

I love love love this post!!!
It's not always about what you buy, but how you live with what you have. I want to take more time to LIVE in my neighborhood and create a sense of community. Just because we don't have a farmers market and victory gardens doesn't mean we can't create them :)

You put a lot of work (and play!) into this post.

Valuable advice. I especially admire your focus on started wherever you are, in a small way.
You have already been a fantastic influence on my own daily habits. Huzzah for Team Uprooted!
